Companies, cities and professionals from Spain and Portugal once again took part in one of the leading international meeting points for retail and real estate.
Held on 3–4 November at the Palais des Festivals, this year’s edition brought together 3,600 participants from 75 countries, including 1,000 retailers and 150 exhibiting companies, reinforcing MAPIC’s role as a key meeting point for the global retail and real estate industry.
From MAPIC Iberia, we would like to thank all the companies, institutions and professionals from Spain and Portugal who contributed to strengthening the Iberian presence at this year’s event.

Iberia in Cannes
This year’s Iberian representation brought together a diverse range of companies and organisations from across the retail and real estate ecosystem.
Participants included AECC, Sonae Sierra, TRISON NECSUM, theleisureway, NEINVER, Galería Canalejas, Laborde Marcet, TrueBroker / Apostamos por Madrid, Caldas da Rainha, Município de Santarém, Placer and Entrecampos Lisbon.
Together, they represented different areas of the industry, including retail real estate, investment, asset management, technology, consultancy, placemaking, urban development and destination promotion.
For Placer, Santarém and Caldas da Rainha, MAPIC 2026 included a dedicated presence through the Networking Tables, providing a space to present their projects, connect with international players and explore new business opportunities in Cannes.
Throughout the two days, Iberian participants had the opportunity to connect with retailers, investors, owners, developers, cities and other international players, while taking part in conversations around some of the key trends transforming the sector.
New models for retail destinations
The evolution of retail destinations, the transformation of high streets, the role of artificial intelligence, new consumer experiences and international expansion were among the topics shaping this year’s programme.
Sonae Sierra took part in a session focused on the evolution of shopping centres into new media and communication platforms powered by artificial intelligence.
The programme also highlighted the potential of Iberian high streets, with Madrid, Barcelona and Lisbon at the centre of a discussion on current retail and investment opportunities.
Portugal also gained visibility through dedicated networking moments and destination-focused conversations, strengthening the positioning of its cities, projects and investment opportunities within the international MAPIC community.
Honest Greens recognised at the MAPIC Awards
The Iberian presence also enjoyed a major highlight during the MAPIC Awards 2026.
Honest Greens was named Most Exciting – Food & Beverage, recognising the strength of its concept, market traction and international growth potential.
The award once again highlights the ability of Iberian brands to create concepts capable of growing beyond their domestic markets and competing on an international stage.

Two days of connections and new opportunities
Beyond the official conference programme, MAPIC continues to be a key platform for business development and relationship-building across the industry.
Throughout this year’s edition, MAPIC Iberia spoke with companies, cities and professionals from Spain and Portugal to hear their perspectives on the market, current opportunities and the evolution of retail destinations.
Different markets, business models and perspectives came together around a shared objective: creating stronger connections and identifying new opportunities for growth.
Looking ahead to the next edition
From MAPIC Iberia, we would like to thank all the companies, institutions, speakers, partners and professionals who contributed to this year’s edition and helped strengthen the international visibility of the Iberian retail and real estate ecosystem.
The conversations, connections and opportunities created in Cannes are what continue to give value to the event beyond the two days themselves.
See you in Cannes at MAPIC 2027.
